This is because a products success lies in the hands of the customer and if it is manufactured and launched without knowing the likes and dislikes of the customer then the product will be a failure.

A Market research Manager is a person who selects the exact supporting systems like techniques and methods which are required by the business. Once the selection of the methods and techniques are over, the market research manager develops and assists n developing the instruments needed for research.

The Market research manager is required to closely work with the Directors of Market Research Project team and the vendors in market to ensure successful and perfect execution of the work they have undertaken. He should possess goof communication skills in order to communicate with clients. He should get in-depth in to understanding the documents. He should design the questionnaires and proper guiding materials. A good quantitative and qualitative research plan for the product to be launched should be designed in all stages. During the field work he should ensure full team work and he himself should get involved and work with the project directors.  He should be able to interpret the reports and data collected, provided or written.

Once the project is completed, the Market research manager reviews everything right from the data collected, reports and many recommendations which are business oriented to the client.

 

To become a MARKET RESEARCH MANAGER, a degree in marketing or an MBA will be an added advantage. The initial remuneration will be to lakhs per annum while an experienced professional will earn more than six lakhs. Top organizations will pay lakhs per month.

A Public Relations Manager holds a key position in each and every field he works in. He is considered to be the nucleus of an organization.  The public relations manager deals not with the products but with the employers or clients. He plans and develops the public image of his client in such a way that they stand tall among other competitors.

The public relations manager should hold press releases and conferences. He should also arrange to conduct corporate events which his client or organization is conducting. This will help in maintaining and improvising the goodwill of the respective client.

An organization, in order to prove and point or make a point of view in an interview or media release, seeks the help of a public relations manager.  He is always updated about the political, social and economic trends. He helps the organizations stay updated according to these trends.

In large corporate, the public relations manager guides and supervises a team of public relations officers who are actually specialists in the field. For a fresher, the remuneration will be two-three lakh per annum. An experienced professional will be earning more than four lakhs per annum. Media directors are those professionals who are responsible for overseeing the media related activities that have been created to arouse the interest in the products, brands and services of a particular company.

Media directors are usually found at departments related to advertising and mainly in advertising agencies. They ensure that advertisements are duly reached to the intended viewers. Their clients are in groups of individuals and people from national and international companies. Media directors are not only found in advertising agencies but also in huge corporations, companies who have their own advertising departments. They use various technologies to take the advertisements to various Medias. They have to research and conduct studies and analyze the audience and viewers minds and decide which type of communication will suit whom. These can vary from bill boards to social media and radio to television.

These days opportunities for media directors are found everywhere. The national sports teams like cricket, hockey, football, kabaddi, etc have their own media managers and directors for various activities.  These people get handsomely paid and carry huge responsibilities in their shoulders.

Media directors are required to have a bachelor’s degree in business administration, or marketing or advertising along with two internships atleast. A masters degree will be an added advantage. Most of them will get recruited through campus recruitment. During campus recruitment they will be required to work under a media director, whereas with experience they can reach the position of a media director. Employers will conduct some communication and written tests so that it will help them garner more information about the candidate and helps them to decide whether the candidate can survive as a media director.

This particular field is expected to carve a niche for itself in the upcoming years and soon there will be a huge demand for media directors worldwide.

A fresher gets a payment of 15000-25000 per month whereas an experienced professional get their payment in five figures.

A person solely in charge of directing and planning advertising campaigns and promotional events for companies are called ADVERTISING MANAGERS. They take up the role in order to create interest and awareness about a particular product. Their group usually comprises of art directors, sales staff and finance department staff. Their main duty is to develop and execute campaigns and events and usually act as middlemen between the clients and the agencies.

Their basic activities are as follows

  • Organize meeting with clients and discuss and provide technical and marketing advice
  • Assist in hiring marketing and advertising staff and monitor their daily activities.
  • Conduct regular meetings with head of departments and staff and discuss matters related to media advertising of product to be advertised and contents to be advertised.
  • Perfect planning of campaigns and events
  • Select the medium of advertising for each product as each product might become successful if advertised in a certain medium like TV, social media, newspapers, magazines, radio programs, live events etc.
  • Negotiations play a major role
  • Conduct market research studies which helps them in advertising
  • Pricing of products also plays a major role in their occupation.
  • The advertising manager usually works in the office premises. They might require working long hours but due to the creativity involved in the job they might not be stressful. This job also requires traveling frequently with the clients and their representatives

A three year graduation in any stream and supporting course in advertising, marketing, journalism can earn you a job as Advertising manager.  A masters degree is an added advantage.

Salary packages vary with companies and experience. Freelancing is not preferred much in this occupation.

Marketing and Promotions manager, though different people, have to perform almost the same duties. Their main duties are to arouse interest and excitement in a product and its related services. Their co workers mainly comprise of financial team, art team and sales team.

They usually work with staff of various departments and respective department heads. While small and medium level clients are usually been handled by juniors, corporate and big business magnates are usually handled by experienced professionals.

The promotions managers use mails, pamphlets, newspaper insertions, ads in internet, store ads, events etc to convince and attract customers. They also use various fast selling strategies such as gifts, discounts, samples, contests, rebates, coupons etc.

The Marketing managers create and estimate the demands and requirements of a company’s and its respective competitor’s service and products. They find out the market study of a company’s products.

Many organisations depend on marketing managers for developing and pricing their products and how to increase their profits and market shares values. Marketing managers also ensure the satisfaction of a customer. The team with which they have to work include, product developing team, PR team and sales team.

A promotions and marketing manager is required to possess a good Bachelors degree. An MBA or any related masters degree is an added advantage. Courses in laws, computers, economics, business etc are added advantages and makes work easy. An internship program will enable the person to understand work procedure better. Internships pave way to better employment. Some students are bound to get placed in the same company where they do their internship.

Marketing and promotions professionals are usually paid very high salaries. In huge corporate, even fresher’s are paid in five figures. In normal companies, a fresher is paid somewhere between 10000-15000 while experienced professional are paid exorbitant salary. They also earn more through incentives and bonuses.

Marketing done through websites, social media, emails, search engines, mobiles etc are called DIGITAL MARKETING.
