19th of April was a day of hectic activity at the IPD (Institute of Professional Development) learning Center in the M Square Complex on Pavamani Road, Calicut, since the IPD Multimedia and Design students who had registered for the Semester Exams of the Open University Malaysia were appearing for their third day’s theory exam paper. This would be followed by a day’s practical examination also.
However, the day’s spotlight was to beam on two international celebrities who were responsible for the launch of IPD vocational courses in South India – Mr. Kalairasan, CEO, Tharshal group of Companies and Mr. Jai Nanak Singh, GM, also of Tharshal Group who were on an official visit to the Calicut learning Center. The Tharshal Group is a renowned educational training Center in Malaysia and is an established partner of IPD, Malaysia. This was indeed a great moment of honor for each student, faculty and administrative member of the Institution to welcome and celebrate the occasion by convening a quick meeting to pay tribute to the esteemed guests. It was also a pleasure and privilege to be honored by the visit of a well-wisher and mentor to the Institution, Mr. Shiby Kottayil (CEO, St. Alphonsa Group) at the same gathering.
Mr. Kalairasan and Mr. Jai Nanak Singh commented on the progress made by the IPD students so far and attempted to point out the career possibilities lying in store for them after internship. The allure of an overseas trip was also hinted at by the Malaysian delegates.
