The career opportunities in Interior Design  have grown rapidly due to the high prospects for competent professionals in design industry. An interior designer gains experience once he/she starts working in the field, either as an employee or as a freelancer and this boosts his/her quality of work.   5. The courses are accredited either by educational boards or provided independently by design institutes.
  6. Practical and theory sessions are limited.
  7. It is helpful for those who consider designing as a hobby, or for those who seek design skills in limited time.

INTERIOR DESIGNING DIPLOMA COURSES:

The diploma courses are ideal for those who are already working professionals but want to explore or expand their career in Interior Designing. These are generally certified by a university or an educational board.

  1. Diploma Courses are provided typically for one year duration.
  2. Certain professional diploma courses provide optional two-year and three- year diploma options.
  3. The course structure covers important theory and practical topics in a wider approach.
  4. Special focus is given to skill-enhancing subjects such as designing software (AutoCAD/3ds Max/Adobe Photoshop etc).
  5. Equal importance is given to both theory and practical sessions.
  6. It is useful for those who want to gain the minimum knowledge to start working professionally and for those who want to supplement their current educational achievements further.
  7. The students are eligible to apply for various job positions in design/architectural firms; they can also work as freelancers.

INTERIOR DESIGNING GRADUATION/POST-GRADUATION COURSES:

The graduation level courses are three-year programs, with an optional added internship term which can be for a few months to a year.

  1. The programs are structured in such a way that all designing areas are broadly covered.
  2. The practical portions are often individual subjects.
  3. Students develop a vast portfolio of projects and designs by the time they get ready for internship, mainly due to the great emphasis on detailed hands-on method.
  4. Entrepreneurship and professional practice subjects are major areas of focus.
  5. The courses are accredited by universities and recognized by UGC.
  6. Some universities also provide the option of distance learning/ Contact Learning.
  7. Students are eligible to pursue post-graduation and further higher studies.
  8. Graduation in Interior Designing brightens the career scopes in academic avenues such as teaching in Interior Design Colleges (Full-time/Part-time).
